The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Examination) is a standardized test required for admission to most independent (private) schools, developed and administered by ERB (Educational Records Bureau).

ISEE Test Structure (All Levels)
- Verbal Reasoning: 20–34 questions, 20 minutes (synonyms, sentence completion)
- Quantitative Reasoning: 37–38 questions, 35 minutes (math problem-solving/logic)
- Reading Comprehension: 25–26 questions, 25–35 minutes
- Mathematics Achievement: 30–47 questions, 30 minutes
- Essay (Unscored): 1 topic, 30 minutes — sent to schools as a writing sample
Total Testing Time: Approximately 3–3.5 hours
Scoring: Each section receives a scaled score (typically 760–940) and a percentile rank compared to a national sample — there is no single composite score.
