Ready to unlock the secrets of the elements? Join our Three-Day Adv Chemistry Summer Course, a fast-paced, hands-on dive into the world of atoms and molecules. Tailored for students enrolled in Carroll ISD’s Advanced Chemistry course, this will sharpen your skills in monatomic and polyatomic ions and formula writing—perfect for acing future chem classes!

Day 1: Monatomic – Learn about single atom ion charges, patterns, and roles in the periodic table with fun, interactive challenges.

Day 2: Polyatomic – Memorize key polyatomic ions and see how they bond through exciting experiments.

Day 3: Formula Writing– Practice writing chemical formulas, balancing compounds, and decoding reactions with real-world applications.

Abstract Art workshop

Delve into the world of nonobjective art exploring various techniques and mediums to express emotions and ideas beyond representational forms. Engage in action painting inspired by Jackson Pollock, and study the works of Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee, Joseph Albers, Bridget Riley, Helen Frankenthaler, Eva Hess, Sol LeWitt, and Peter Halley to inspire their creations

Portraiture workshop

Explore the art of figure representation through various drawing, painting, and printmaking techniques. Study facial proportions, expression, and individual character, working from references and live observation to develop their skills. Each day will focus on a different medium, from graphite and charcoal for detailed sketches to watercolor and acrylic for expressive color studies.

When: June 9-13 9AM-12PM, July 21-25 1PM–4PM

Animal Portrait

Capture your favorite animal through drawing, painting, and printmaking to bring their subjects to life. The curriculum covers sketching with graphite, charcoal, and oil pastels; painting vibrant portraits with watercolor, gouache, and acrylics; carving block prints; blending ink washes and pastel accents; and experimenting on mixed media paper, toned paper, and canvas to explore diverse surfaces and techniques.

When: July 14-18 9AM-12PM

Collage and Sculpt to Paint workshop

Craft layered compositions by integrating mixed mediums to construct dynamic surface for drawings and paintings like magazine clippings and fabric scraps, alongside sculptural components including cardboard reliefs and modeling paste. The painting phase will incorporate acrylics and inks, with adhesives and tools such as matte medium, glue sticks, and palette knives facilitating the assembly and refinement of their artworks.
